IFMA/GCN CERTIFICATE OF NONPROFIT FACILITY MANAGEMENT CONCLUDES WITH 30 GRADUATES
On October 9, IFMA Atlanta Community Services Committee presented the concluding session of the five-part Certificate of Nonprofit Facility Management through Nonprofit University at Georgia Center for Nonprofits. Representatives from nonprofit organizations have learned to master the essentials of renovating and maintaining their facilities with minimum impact on their operating programs.
In this session on Facility Safety and Security, participants learned how to implement and maintain safety standards and how to prepare for emergency response.
Scott Mullis, Director of Training for EPIC Response, reviewed principles and procedures for being properly prepared for emergencies and disasters to maximize life safety, incident stabilization, and property conservation.
Barbara Miller, Facilities Manager for AkzoNobel Coatings, presented the 5S System for sorting, organizing, cleaning, and standardizing to maintain a safe environment.
In a follow up segment to this program, Steve Hamlin, Georgia Account Manager for United Security Alliance, will present a session on securing the nonprofit environment to protect people, property, and revenue.
Thirty participants completed the first offering of this vital program and earned Certificates of Nonprofit Facility Management. Planning is underway now for follow up sessions and a repeat offering of the five-part program in the months to come.
