Atlanta Work Place is the Atlanta Chapter’s premier one day conference developed specifically for the facility professional. This conference is held on a bi-annual basis. The conference hosts three educational tracks prepared to assist you in obtaining CEU’s toward your professional facility credentials to include the CFM – Certified Facility Manager, FMP – Facility Management Professional, and SFP – Sustainable Facility Professional. The events hosts Premier Keynote speakers for breakfast and lunch. An example of previous speakers include; MARTA CEO – Keith Park, PATH Foundation CEO – Ed McBrayer, and Executive Director of Green Doors – Frank Fernandez.

In addition, our Chapter works with other partners such as, IIDA-Georgia, ASID-Georgia, G4 Green Connections, and Atlanta Branch of USGBC-Georgia. This allows us to offer CEU’s toward LEED, Design, and Georgia Real Estate Commission.

Our committee is responsible for obtaining the venue, designing the flow of the conference, recruiting keynote speakers, recruiting educational speakers for at least nine CEU courses, catering, audio visual, recruiting business partners (vendors) to our exhibit hall, advertising/marketing, silent auction, photography and miscellaneous items necessary to coordinate a conference of this type. Attendance to this event averages 200 folks, however, we are always looking for ways to increase attendance. This may include partnerships with other chapters in the region and or possibly IFMA headquarters in the future.

Those wishing to serve on this committee should look to be committed for 2 years. The majority of the first six months involves locating a venue and securing said venue. The remainder of the next year and a half you can expect monthly meetings / conference calls. The last 90 days prior to the event you may expect to meet on site to iron out logistics and a higher frequency of meetings/conference calls.
