SUMMARY:Americans with Disabilities Compliance as it Relates to Signage
DESCRIPTION:\n\nFor this presentation\, APCO supplies information regarding
  all current rules for signage compliance to ADA standards\, from technica
 l font specifications to mounting requirements\, and includes definitions 
 regarding Permanent Spaces\, Tactile vs Visual messaging requirements\, an
 d additional specialty information\, like the requirements for Miscellaneo
 us Signs\, and signs that are exempt from any guidelines. This presentatio
 n also meets HSW requirements.\n\nLearning Objective 1: The attendee will 
 develop an understanding of the current ADA Guidelines for signage\nLearni
 ng Objective 2: The attendee will be able to solve ADA Signage project pro
 blems by applying acquired knowledge.\nLearning Objective 3: The attendee 
 will be able to analyze signage programs in a way that complies with ADA g
 uidelines.\n\nSherry Beauvais has over 20 years of professional experience
  in the sign industry as well as 6 years in architectural interior design\
 , beginning her career in Orlando\, FL as an interior designer. Sherry mov
 ed into a sales consultant role starting in Seattle\, WA in 1994. She late
 r moved into signage materials in Atlanta\, GA where she acted as a techni
 cal materials expert to APCO Graphics before her direct career began with 
 APCO. Sherry assists environmental graphic designers\, interior designers\
 , architects\, facilities managers and general contractors with their sign
 age projects utilizing her expertise in sign materials and planning design
 .\n\nLucy Pereira began her signage career in 1999 working for a local sig
 n shop. During that time\, she learned the art of graphic design\, signage
  fabrication and installation. Since then\, Lucy has furthered her knowled
 ge in the architectural signage industry\, developing and managing solutio
 ns for numerous projects while working alongside the regional sales manage
 rs across the United States. She is a member of the Society for Experienti
 al Graphic Design.
